本研究は、韓国人の日本に対する否定的な認識を日本人に対する潜在的な偏見と位置付け、韓国人大学生の日本イメージの実態と形成要因を明らかにし、日本人への偏見の形成と低減のプロセスに迫るものである。平成25年度は予定通り実態調査(内容調査・形成要因調査)と構造調査を実施した。韓国の3大学(477名)で質問紙を用いて実態調査を行い、その結果をもとに再度韓国の4大学(555名)で構造調査(質問紙調査)を実施した。その結果、次のような成果が得られた。第1に日本イメージの構造と具体的な内容を分析し、「警戒すべき国」というイメージが日本人への偏見(「警戒すべき相手」)となりやすいことを明確にした。「警戒すべき国」「好感のもてる国」「アニメ・漫画・島国」「静的・閉鎖的な国」の上位カテゴリーのうち「警戒すべき国」のイメージは韓日間の歴史的・政治的関係や原発事故に起因する否定的な認識であり、日本人に対する潜在的な偏見といえる。第2に日本イメージの内容別形成要因を分析し、国家イメージから派生した日本人への偏見(「警戒すべき相手」)が韓国メディアの報道と歴史教育から形成されることを浮き彫りにした。第3に日本イメージと直接経験・日本語能力との関連性を統計的に分析し、日本人との接触と日本語の上達が日本人への偏見の低減につながるプロセスを検討した。日本人との接触と日本語の上達が、日本への否定的な認識(「警戒すべき国」)の改善につながり、結果的に国家イメージから派生した日本人への偏見(「警戒すべき相手」)も低減するという、プロセスが推測された。本研究の成果は、韓国人の日本人に対する偏見の具体的な内容を明らかにし、それが形成・低減されるプロセスを示している点で、今後の外国人イメージ研究や偏見研究に有用な示唆を与えていると思われる。

This study aims to explore the potential bias and position of Korean university students in Japan, and the key factors for the formation of Korean university students in Japan. In 2015, we conducted a survey on the status of scheduled communication (content survey, formation factor survey) and structural survey.
