项目摘要

バングラデシュ再生の基盤をバングラデシュ森林保護区の少数民族居住地域に求め、これらの地域をフィールドに措定し、保護区のみに残された本来あるべき姿の原基形態としての少数民族と森林との関係を把握しこれをバングラデシュ再生のヒントとすべく研究を継続してきた。我々はこれまで、実態調査研究に基づいた成果を多くのインパクトファクターのある国際学術誌に公表してきた。本研究はこれまでの我々の研究の有力な構成部分であるが、未だに手が付けられていなかった野生生物を媒介とした森林と人間との関係の展開という視点からの実態調査に基づいた考究を行うべく計画し実施してきた。Dr. Shaheed氏は平成24年8月に来日し森林政策学研究室(小池)、動物生態学研究室(泉山)とともに本研究課題に実行してきた。10月から11月にかけてバングラデシュに出向き、国際共同研究を実施しているチッタゴン大学森林環境研究所Dr. Miah助教授(前信州大学森林政策学研究室JSPS外国人特別研究員)と連携してレマカレンガ野生生物保護区において個別実態調査を実施した。その後、バングラデシュにおいて、レマカレンガ森林保護区においてチッタゴン大学のDr. Miahと連携して研究実施計画に沿った形で、森林保護区の先住民を対象として家計レベルの民族生態学的個別聞き取り調査を実施した。平成25年9月には福岡において開催された国際シンポジウムで発表、平成25年10月にはケニア、マサイマラ国立公園における野生動物の保護管理の実態調査を実施した。マサイマラ国立公園では、公園隣接地域で生活するマサイ族からの聞き取り調査を実施し、地域住民と公園管理の問題点について貴重なデータを得ることができた。本研究の総仕上げとして、Chowdhury, M.S.H., Koike, M. and Izumiyama, S. による、「Forest conservation in the protected areas of Bangladesh : Policy and community development perspectives」と題して、Springer Publishing for book publication in the 'World Forests Series' シリーズの20番目の1冊として出版することができた。
