本研究の目的は、帝政初期の模擬弁論における、黄金ラテン散文の表現の継承と修辞学理論の利用のあり方とを大セネカの著作に即して究明することであり、そのために大セネカの『論判弁論集』の第一巻に対する注釈書の作成が主眼に置かれている。この注釈書作成によって考究される主要な点は、大セネカ『論判弁論集』第一巻の本文校訂、大セネカおよび彼に引用されている模擬弁論家の文体への、黄金期ラテン散文の影響、大セネカの序と論評に対する修辞学理論の影響の三つであるが、本年度ではこのうち、修辞学理論の影響の問題を中心的な課題とした。具体的には、この著作を構成する主要な三部分(警句sententiae、分割divisiones、潤色colores)と、古典的な修辞学理論の枠組みにおいてこれらに相当する部分(措辞、配列、発想)と比較した。その結果、特に分割と潤色について、相手のいない模擬弁論において想定可能な限りの反論に答えようとする意図から複雑な分割が生じてくる過程や、細かい背景事実の規定の無い主題について効果的に論じるため、多種多様でときには互いに矛盾さえする潤色が許容されているさまが明らかとなった。さらにこの特徴を、実際の裁判の場合と異なる模擬弁論に即したものとして統一的に把握する試みも行われた。これと並行して、『論判弁論集』第一巻のうち、このような修辞学理論の影響が現れている箇所を個別に研究し、それに対する注釈の作成を進めた。これらの成果は、大セネカの修辞学の成立過程の解明につながるとともに、修辞学理論が弁論における説得のためのものから美しい文章を構成するためのものに変容し始めた過程を追うというより大きな問題に寄与すると考えられる。

The purpose of this study is to study the theory of imitation in the early period of imperial government, to inherit the performance of golden prose, to make use of rhetoric theory, and to make the main point of the first volume of the theory collection. The main points of this annotation are: the revision of the first volume of the book, the influence of the prose in the golden period, the influence of the preface of the book on rhetoric theory, the revision of the first volume of the book, the revision of the text, the influence of the quotation, the influence of rhetoric theory, the central topic of this year. There are three main parts in the composition of concrete works (epigrams, divisions, embellishments), classical rhetoric theory and its corresponding parts (wording, arrangement, thought) and comparison.
