本年度は、さまざまな実験を進めることを最優先に研究活動を行った。昨年度から継続して行っている選好注視法の実験では、妊娠前後期のニホンザルメスを中心に多くの個体で実験を実施した。出産期は5～6月であり、交配させた時期から出産予定日を割り出し、その前後で選好注視法を実施した。妊娠個体は神経質なため、移動式の選好注視測定装置ではなく、個別ケージの前にモニターを設置し乳児カテゴリーの画像とアダルトカテゴリーの画像を対呈示して視線配分を測定した。その際、出産予定日1か月前から対象個体の尿のサンプリングも併せて行った。尿中のオキシトシン濃度を測定することが目的で、選好注視における実験結果と内分泌動態の関連について調べるために実施した。また、選好性とは別に、乳児に対する視覚的な注意について調べるために、新たな実験も行った。前述の選好性の実験では、画像の呈示時間を長く設定し、その間の視線配分を計測していたが、本実験では、画像の呈示時間を短く設定し、選択的な注意の捕捉がみられるかを検討した。Dot-probe課題という手続きを新たに導入し、ニホンザル向けに一部改変して実施した。Dot-probe課題では、まず実験動物は、タッチパネルに呈示されるドットをより素早くタッチするように訓練される。反応速度や正答率が安定してきた後、ドットが出現する直前に任意のオトナ画像と乳児の画像を対呈示し、ドットへの反応速度を記録した。どちらかの画像に対する選択的な注意がみられる場合には、ドットへの反応速度に影響がみられることが期待された。メスニホンザル3頭を対象に、この課題を実施した結果、乳児カテゴリーの画像への視覚的な注意の捕捉効果が示唆された。この実験は、刺激画像の種類を変更して現在も継続中である。この他、博士論文を執筆したり、上述の実験のデータの分析を積極的に行った。
