平成25年度は、A)アレッサンドロ・マンゾーニの歴史小説『いいなづけ』における史実と虚構の連関の問題を中心的課題とした。また、マンゾーニ詩学において極めて重要な位置を占める「読者」の問題についてもB)『いいなづけ』の中に見られる「読者」の表象という観点から取り組んだ。なお年度前半(9月まで)は、前年度後半に引き続きマンゾーニ研究の拠点と言えるミラノに滞在し、研究を行った(イタリア国立マンゾーニ研究センター、ミラノ大学スペーラ教授)。A)については、作品の「反歴史」的および「反文学」的側面に着目して研究を進めた。『いいなづけ』における創作部分と歴史叙述部分は完全には綯い交ぜにならず区別が可能となっているが、既存の表現形式――大文字の歴史や大文字の文学――とは異なる仕方で社会全体を描くというプランのもと、歴史とフィクションはやはり有機的に連関しているのである。この研究の成果は、イタリア学会第61回大会(富山大学)において発表された。B)の、テクスト内に現れる〈聞き手=読者〉像の分析については、ミラノ大学教授ローザらの優れた先行研究が存在するが、報告者が前年度までに行った〈著者=語り手〉に関する研究の成果を踏まえることにより、既存の研究の不十分な点を補足・修正できることが明らかとなった。〈著者=語り手〉が用いる一人称の諸形のうち「共感の一人称複数」は、「読者」を含む「我々」であるが、これまでの読者論においてはこの用法が等閑視されていたのである。以上の研究により得られた知見は、「歴史叙述」部分についての初年度の研究成果を学会誌投稿論文に仕上げる際にも、新たに取り入れることができた(『イタリア学会誌』第64号に投稿)。
