Own-gender bias in face memory and cognition is the phenomenon in which people exhibit better performance for own-gender faces than other-gender faces. We investigated whether perceptual expertise factors or social cognitive factors contribute to own-gender bias in face recognition. As a result, we found that not perceptual expertise factors but social cognitive factors may contribute to own-gender bias in face recognition.

面孔记忆和认知中的自身性别偏见是指人们对自己性别的面孔比对其他性别的面孔表现出更好的记忆和认知。本研究探讨了知觉专业知识因素和社会认知因素对面孔识别中的性别偏见的影响。结果发现，面孔识别中的性别偏见可能与社会认知因素有关，而非知觉专业知识因素。
