We studied about psychomotor retardation in patients with major depression, using magnetoencephalography (MEG). Twelve remitted patients with major depression and twelve age- and sex-matched healthy volunteers performed verbal fluency task. Subjects were required to covertly generate word which begin with one of three Japanese syllabaries which was randomly presented. Magnetic field was recorded with a neuromagnetometer. We analyzed the signal of certain frequency which is thought to reflect the cerebral activity. Both depression and control groups showed similar activation pattern, first in the occipital area followed by left lateral prefrontal and somatosensory area. However, the depression group showed greater activation in somatosensory area and in right occipital area.

本文应用脑磁图（MEG）对抑郁症患者的精神发育迟滞进行了研究。12名抑郁症缓解期患者和12名年龄和性别匹配的健康志愿者进行了言语流畅性任务。受试者被要求秘密地产生的字，开始与三个日本音节，这是随机提出的。用神经磁力计记录磁场。我们分析了被认为反映大脑活动的特定频率的信号。抑郁组和对照组的激活模式相似，首先在枕区，其次是左侧前额叶和躯体感觉区。而抑郁组躯体感觉区和右枕区的激活程度更高。
