Observations of submillimeter water masers with ALMA and VERA

本研究利用日本国家天文台运行的超长基线干涉仪VERA和刚刚开始正常运行的国际毫米/亚毫米干涉仪ALMA对最近的大质量恒星形成区猎户座KL进行了观测研究。研究主要集中在厘米级、毫米级和亚毫米级水发射线上。作为本研究的结果，在猎户座KL首次发现了一些水线。此外，VERA和ALMA的最高空间分辨率观测揭示了一种名为致密脊的受冲击分子气体和大质量原星源I的详细物理、动力学和化学性质。

The present research carried out observational studies of the nearest massive star-forming region Orion KL by using VERA, a very long baseline interferometer operated by National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, and ALMA, an international millimeter/submillimeter interferometer just started regular operation. The research mainly focused on the centimeter, millimeter, and submillimeter water emission lines. As the result of the present research, some of the water lines were detected for the first time in Orion KL. Furthermore, the highest spatial resolution observations with VERA and ALMA revealed detailed physical, dynamical and chemical properties of a shocked molecular gas called Compact Ridge and a massive protostar Source I.
