This study clarify syntactic properties of double copular constructions, which are unique in that they invlove the sequence of copular verbs like is is. Specifically, this study presents an analysis where the second copular verbs are grammaticalized into focus markers. In addition, following the analysis of Gelderen (2008), where grammaticalization usually involves the reanalysis of semantic features, the present analysis accounts for the derivation of double copular constructions. It is argued that semantic features of the second copular verbs are reanalyzed in double copular constructions, so that the copular verbs appear in FocusP and are adjoined to the subsequent clauses.

本研究阐明了双copular结构的句法特性，其独特之处在于它涉及到像is is这样的copular动词的顺序。具体来说，本研究分析了第二受欢迎动词在语法上如何成为焦点标记。此外，根据Gelderen（2008）的分析，语法化通常涉及对语义特征的重新分析，本分析解释了双共体结构的推导。本文认为，在双copular结构中，第二copular动词的语义特征被重新分析，使得copular动词出现在FocusP中，并与后面的从句相连。
