项目摘要

平成28年度は、特に近代の上方歌舞伎音楽とその囃子方に焦点を当て、以下の通り調査研究を進めた（①～④）。①近代上方歌舞伎囃子方出勤年表の作成：明治以降の上方の囃子方について『近代歌舞伎年表』大阪篇・京都篇や各劇場の番付類を典拠に、近代上方歌舞伎囃子方の出勤年表を作成した。悉皆調査には至っていないが、明治より昭和50年代にかけて約100年間の上方の囃子方の盛衰がたどれるようになり、②を考証する上でも役立つことになった。この成果の一部は「演奏家でたどる近代の上方歌舞伎の音楽」（『平成28年度歌舞伎に携わる演奏家名鑑』）に報告した。②近代上方歌舞伎囃子方旧蔵資料の調査・整理：昨年度に引き続き、昭和期上方歌舞伎で活躍した長唄唄方杵屋胡金吾の遺品資料を調査した。全137点の資料は主に唄本や写真、音声資料から成り、再生可能のオープンリールからは、胡金吾はじめ杵屋富造、中村美秋、実父阪東徳寿郎など昭和の上方の囃子方の演奏を確認することができた。一方、明治から大正期の上方歌舞伎で活躍した唄方阪東亀寿の旧蔵資料を入手し、調査検討した。唄本類61点からは当時黒御簾で使用されていた唄を一覧できるほか、初代市川右團次や初代中村鴈治郎ばかりでなく女役者や上方舞の地方も勤めるなど、近代上方の囃子方の活動範囲、曲のレパートリー、交友関係等を具体的に窺い知ることができた（「長唄唄方阪東亀寿旧蔵史料について」）。③近世の上方囃子方連名の遡及：過年度に引き続き、江戸後期から幕末期にかけての役者評判記と顔見世番付の収集を行い（立命館大学アートリサーチセンター、松竹大谷図書館等）、上方歌舞伎の囃子方連名を翻刻・遡及した。④「芝居囃子日記」の調査・研究：江戸後期の囃子方六代目田中伝左衛門の「芝居囃子日記」について、研究史、諸本の現況、町田旧蔵本と活字本の校異、成立背景などを再検討した（「「芝居囃子日記」再検」）。
