分子の自己集合現象を記述する理論の開発を行っている. １つ目は, 構成要素の分子の分子内・分子間相互作用を記述する量子化学に基づく理論, ２つ目は, 分子が多数集合化した構造・状態を記述する統計力学理論, そして３つ目は, 系中に様々存在する分子集合体がどのように生成・消滅し, 時間発展していくかを記述する動力学理論である. 本年度は以下の３つの課題に取り組んだ.（１）金属-配位子系の自己集合を記述するための理論手法の開発：今年度は, ２つの点で研究を進展させた. １つ目は, モデルの洗練化であり, 昨年度に報告したモデルでみられた参照値とのずれを改善し, 最終的なモデルを確立した. この内容に関する論文を現在準備中である. ２つ目は, 確立したモデルをエネルギー地形探索法と組み合わせることで, 反応過程の解析を可能にし, パラジウム原子６個を含む全８８１原子の自己集合分子を解析した. この内容に関する論文を現在準備中である.（２）分子の自己集合を記述するための統計力学理論：今年度は, ２つの研究を行った. １つ目は, 対称性が破れた構造体の統計力学理論の開発である. 昨年度までに開発した構造体の理論では, 球対称の構造体しか求めることができなかった. より一般的な形を記述できるように理論を定式化し, 予備的な計算を行った. ２つ目は, エネルギー地形の統計的縮約法の開発である. 自己集合クラスターは多くの構造異性体を有し, それはエネルギー地形における局所安定構造として特徴づけることができる. 数多く存在する局所安定構造の統計的特徴を抽出するための解析手法を開発した.（３）マスター方程式に基づく八面体型金属カプセル錯体の自己集合過程の解析：昨年度までに確立した手法を異なる配位子を用いた系にも適用できることを示し、昨年度までの結果とともに論文としてまとめ、投稿した.
