项目摘要

平成27年度は前年度に引き続き、調査地であるネパール、特にグルン村落が集中するガンダキ県での現地調査を主とした研究活動を行ってきた。年間を通じて昨年度から調査を進めているカスキ郡のS村を拠点とし、村落の住民が行う農作業や村仕事等に同行して参与観察を行った他、折に触れて行われる年中儀礼や人生儀礼の観察および記録を行った。特にこれらの参与観察では、親族関係がいかに動員されるのかに焦点を当てた調査を行った。例えば、農作業の際には、友人関係を基盤としてノグルという共同労働グループが組織されるが、そのほかにもクランやリネージといった親族関係を基盤とした「パリワール・ノグル」という共同労働グループが存在することが明らかになった。また、それと並行して昨年度に実施した世帯調査の成果をもとに、特に村内の知識人や宗教職能者に対して重点的に、民族や村の歴史、親族関係等についての聞き取り調査を行った。グルンの歴史、特に祖先の移住ルートに関しては、ネパールにおいて民族運動が活発になって以降、グルンの民族運動における重要なトピックであったが、近年ではそれに加えてクランごとの歴史に注目が集まっていることが明らかになった。また、近年では村を越えてクランの集まりが催されるなど、歴史に限らず、クランやリネージレベルでの凝集性が高まりを見せていることも確認できた。また、これらのS村を中心とした調査と並行し、踊りや歌を披露するグルンの文化プログラム、地震の被災地を訪問して行った鎮魂儀礼等の民族協会が主催する儀礼プログラム、「第一回グルン映画アワード」といったグルン映画組織の主催するプログラムに参加し、先住民運動に関連する調査、特に自文化表象に関する調査をポカラやカトマンドゥ等の都市部やS村以外の村落において断続的に行った。
