Modification and Application of Carbon Nanotubes

In summary the exploration of the chemical functionalisations of carbon nanotubes will be carried out, focusing on metal complexes. Furthermore a major focus will be the exploitation of the expected materials to a broad variety of important applications. In addition the potential of NT containing ferromagnetic material will be investigated for many processes. The advantage would be to recover these NT with magnets, which would be of high interest in industrial processes. If drugs are attached to the tubes, it would be possible to deliver those directly to the desired place in the body via magnetic fields.
