项目摘要

注意と意識の相同性を、確からしさ（確信度）という観点から問うために、初年度には、確信度の成立過程において、霊長類の共通性を支持する知見を得ている。本年度は、もう一端の標的である注意のコンポーネントへ踏み込んで、検証した。同一の視覚刺激に対し、異なる二つの刺激特徴に着目させ、それぞれの条件から得られる確信度を比較した。その結果、着目させた刺激特徴によって、表出される確信度が、信号検出理論による予測値から逸脱することが判明した。このような現象は、呈示する刺激の種類や、条件間での判別成績の違いにはよらず、観察された。このことは、外界のどのような側面に注意を払うかという能動的プロセスによって、主観評定に反映される情報が左右されることを意味している。以上から，我々の視知覚系は，物理的に同一のボトムアップ情報を受け取ったとしても，トップダウン信号に応じて，質的に異なる情報処理を行い，また，その情報が主観的経験として変換する過程においても，量的に異なる確からしさが付与されていることが推察された。
