项目摘要

古墳時代及び魏晋南北朝併行期の搬入ガラス製品の分析と東西交流に関する研究について、日本及び韓国の遺物の実見を進めた。いずれも実見することにより、図版や写真からだけではわからない様々な特徴を観察することができ、その製作技法についても、新たな知見を得ることができた。対応する西方の珠を明らかにした結果、いずれも製作地を異にしており、その東アジアへの搬入ルートは判明していない。また詳細な製作地も不明である。今後もその製作地及び日本への搬入ルートについてさらに研究を進めたいと考えている。また朝鮮半島の装飾珠を集成・資料調査を行う中で、雁木珠タイプは朝鮮・日本双方から出土している一方、モザイク珠や網目文珠はごく一例を除き日本からの出土のみであることが明らかとなった。これまで装飾珠は朝鮮半島とのつながりの中でその搬入が想定されていたが、あらためて東アジアから古墳時代社会への入手ルートを検討する必要があることが明らかとなった。古墳時代において最も類例の多い斑点文珠についても多数実見を行った。その結果判明した製作技法（全て鋳造による）と、さらに朝鮮半島出土斑点文珠と比較した結果、列島内の斑点文珠は、列島内における製作を想定して問題ないと考えるに至った。これまであいまいにされていた搬入品か否かという点には決着が付いたと考えている。今後は、斑点文装飾珠の製作の列島外からの影響、技術移転という観点から研究を進めるべきと考える。さらに現在装飾珠の新たな分類を検討しているが、この斑点文珠は4～5タイプに分けることができると考えており、それはすなわち製作地または工房と対応すると思われる。これまで古墳時代の装飾珠の具体的な製作技法や製作地についての検討は一切行われておらず、古墳時代の技術史に新しい側面を加えることとなったといえる。今後さらに具体的な製作地の検討を行いたい。
