项目摘要

最終年度となる平成29年度は，これまでの調査結果の取りまとめと成果の報告，および本研究の理論的枠組みの精緻化に注力した．まず国内の事例研究については，昨年度末に設定した研究課題に従い，北海道赤平市と兵庫県朝来市における産業遺産の観光資源化プロセスの調査を継続し，その成果を2編の学術論文および3件の学会発表として公表することができた．両事例から，既往研究では等閑視されてきた，文化遺産保全における地域社会内部の主体の多様性と，それら複数の主体が協働する可能性について検討することができた．特にホストとゲストの間に生じるコンタクトと，双方によるパフォーマンスの観点から上記の課題を検討したことは，本研究の観光学に対する学術的貢献となりうる．国外の事例研究については，平成27年度に実施したサハリン州の産業遺産保全に関する調査のフォローアップを実施した．また，平成29年10月には，サハリン州の博物館や大学の関係者らが出席するセミナーにおいてアウトリーチ活動も行った．その際に，これまでの調査の成果を報告できた一方で，出席者からもサハリンにおける産業遺産保全の現状についての貴重な指摘や意見も得ることができた．理論研究については，事例研究の知見を踏まえて当初の構想を修正し，Heritage Studiesや観光学の諸理論を横断的に検討した上で，地域社会学や歴史社会学の理論も踏まえて，文化遺産の価値構築と読解，およびそれに対する観光の作用について理論的に検討した．今後については，平成30年度に一連の成果を博士学位申請論文として取りまとめて広く公開していく予定である．
