世論形成過程について、前年度から引き続き世論形成過程（本人の態度形成と世論認知）に対しミクロな情報環境からのアプローチによって研究を行った。具体的には以下である。(1)前年度に行った社会調査の分析平成27年度11月より東京都の1地区で実施した郵送調査の分析を引き続いて行った。一般的に人が世論についての情報を入手する経路はメディア経由であるとされているが、本調査の分析からは世論の推測には各新聞の報道姿勢の認知は影響することは少なく、有権者はすでに新聞に対して政治的なステレオタイプを保有しており、意思決定の際にはそれを割り引いて判断していることを明らかにした。また、対人コミュニケーションが情報源として威力を発揮するのは、報道などの他の手掛かりが乏しいときのみであることもわかった。これらは学会で発表された。それをもとにした論文は英文雑誌に投稿し現在は審査を受けている。(2) webサーベイの実施(1)で得られた結果を踏まえ、扱う変数を増やして検討することとした。特に賛成―反対の次元でしか尋ねていなかった自己の争点態度について、その政策争点に対する自分にとっての重要性や確信度を含めた。また、政党がどのような政策をとっているかの認知も同時に尋ねた。平成29年度2月からwebサーベイを実施した。対象とする政策は当時の情勢を踏まえ原発再稼働問題と米軍基地の普天間からの移設問題とした。得られた結果としては、自己の争点態度を政党の政策ポジションや世論の認知に“投影”していること、多くの場合に政治を話題にするなどの対人コミュニケーションはそれを弱めることなどが示唆された。現在はこれらの学会発表の準備を進めている
