Mental processing of speech prosody in first and second language and applications of empirical data to second language didactics

In the first quartile of the year, I conducted the third experiment of my research proposal gathering data of totaling 125 participants in various languages. Moreover, I read numerous literatures and previous works for the third study. In April, I attended an international conference and presented my work as a poster presentation. At the conference, I received useful feedback and comments from the audience. In May, I participated into a post-doctoral academic workshop held in Rom, where post-doctoral researchers in various research areas got together and discussed their work interdisciplinarly and planned future interdisciplinary collaboration together. The meeting motivated me to continue my further international and interdisciplinary research activities and I obtained important feedback on my research.In the second quartile of the year, I mainly analyzed the data gathered in the first quartile and started to write journal papers based on the second and the third experiments. I gathered further additional data (of 48 participants) at the University of Hamburg in September, because a further experimental participant group was needed to proof my hypotheses.In the third quartile of the year, I continued writing my journal papers. Importantly, two international journal papers on my previous experiments were published. I am still waiting for a decision of acceptance. Furthermore, I applied for a conference from which a conference paper will be published.
