『保元物語』諸本における本文流動の研究

『保元物語』『平治物語』『平家物語』（以下、「軍記三作品」）を中心に、その前後の作品（『今鏡』『愚管抄』『六代勝事記』等）を調査し、これらの歴史認識の在り方を考察した。そして、保元の乱と平治の乱を一組の事件と見做し、時代の画期として認識する方法が、軍記三作品以前には確認できないという知見を得た。すなわち、「保元・平治」という認識は、軍記三作品によって生み出されたものと考えられるのである。本研究は、昨年度の軍記・語り物研究会冬季例会（1月24日於早稲田大学）口頭発表を経て、『国語と国文学』平成29年4月号に掲載された。また、延慶本『平家物語』と鎌倉本『保元物語』における崇徳関連話群の本文交渉を中心に据えつつ、両作品諸本を比較し、延慶本『平家物語』の編集意図を探った。そして、物語全体ではないが、崇徳関連話群として崇徳と西行との交流を感動的に描く方針を確認した。この記事群は『平家物語』と『保元物語』の確実な本文交渉を示す貴重な事例であり、『平家物語』編者が素材として用いた『保元物語』の在り方を示す意味でも示唆的である。本研究は『アジア遊学　根来と延慶本―紀州地域学研究　紀ノ川編―』（平成29年刊行）に収載予定である。その他、龍門文庫所蔵本『保元物語』『平治物語』、及び河野美術館所蔵本『平治物語』二点、計四点の書誌調査を行った。この調査により、両作品の享受の様相や写本の制作事情等を知ることができた。加えて、龍門文庫本は調査を続け、将来的に翻刻刊行を目指す。さらに、『保元物語』の原初的な姿の核には崇徳怨霊の来由を描く意図があったと想定し、そこには菅原道真怨霊の叙述が参照されただろうこと、また四類本『保元物語』『平治物語』に強い影響を与えた『平家物語』が語り本系統のいずれの現存伝本に近いのか、等の問題を調査中である。前者は本年度、後者は来年度の軍記語り物研究会で口頭発表を目指す。
