トルコ共和国の首都アンカラでは、建国以来、都市空間の拡大に伴って、ゲジェコンドゥと呼ばれる不法占拠住宅地区が形成されてきた。こうした住宅地区に住む人々は、しばしば首都開発計画や都市空間の整備にともない、居住地区の建て替えやそこからの立ち退きを迫られてきた。こうした傾向は、1980年以降の新自由主義的な都市開発政策の中で一層強まっている。しかし、一方でその流れに抵抗し、住民が立ち退きを拒んで居住地を守ろうとする運動も見られる。本調査研究は、ゲジェコンドゥの１つ、Dikmen Vadisiを中心に、「住民運動」が都市空間の形成において、1アクターとしてどのような役割を果たし（運動の形成過程）、どのような関係性を創り上げているのか（イデオロギー的背景、外部者との関係）を考察するものである。それにより、都市空間をめぐる「抗争」を通じて新たな「公共圏」が形成される可能性を考察することを目的としてきた。本調査研究によって、元々は文化組織であり、現在は左派組織として活動をする、「人民の家」のメンバーを中心とした、住民運動の形成の過程とネットワークのあり方が明らかとなった。また、「人民の家」が行政への諸申請や教育支援に関わる学生の窓口となり、外部とのプラットフォームとしての役割をはたしていることも明らかとなった。この「人民の家」の組織やトルコにおける市民運動に関しては、各種労働組合の組織運動と深く関係しており、この点ついてはこれまで集めた資料を元に検討をしていくことで、今後、よりこのゲジェコンドゥにおける運動を俯瞰的に捉えることが可能である。また、トルコ共和国での滞在中、テロやクーデター未遂およびその後の情勢の変化を目の当たりにする中で、現在もなお「戦争」や「紛争」の続く“中東”という場所と自身の立ち位置、社会における「恐怖」という感情をめぐる包摂と排除について考察し試論としてまとめた。
