昨年度に引き続き、今年度もネーション・ナショナリズムと1980年代以降のポストコロニアル文学に関する考察を進めた。内容をより充実させた上で得られた成果を博士論文などにまとめ公表し、社会への還元を図りたい。昨年度末に「文学と環境」に投稿した論文「キラン・デサイ『喪失の響き』（The Inheritance of Loss）における自然とコスモポリタンな知覚」は、査読者の指摘に応じて論文を修正・加筆したことで正式に掲載が決まり、10月に出版され、研究成果の発信をすることができた。この論文に関しては、小説中に登場するグルカ・ナショナリズムに関連した考察をさらに深めることが可能であり、内容をより充実させた上で博士論文に組み込む予定である。平成30年１月から3月にかけて、ブルガリア・ソフィア大学のダリン・テネフ教授による論考「Conversations with a Cat and the Potentiality of Literature: On Collete’s La Chatte and Tanizaki’s 『猫と庄造と二人の女』」の日本語訳に取り組んだ。この論文は、近代の文献学研究には「他者の言語」を研究するという重要な企図があることを指摘した上で、「他者の言語」には動物の言語も含まれることを看取し、猫との会話が含まれる二つの小説を比較的に分析したものである。比較文学の広範な知見をもとに、「世界文学」を研究する有効な糸口を提示した論述に、大いに刺激を受けた。近代の文献学の成立と「世界文学」概念の形成は同時であることが指摘されており、「世界文学」にまつわる近年の動向を参照しながらネーションの問題を扱う自身の研究にとっても有用な知見を得ることができた。翻訳は近い将来出版される共著の論文集に収録される予定である。

A collection of papers published in the near future will be published in the future.
