Fr・シュレーゲルにおける「断片・断章」（Fragment）の独自性を解明しようとする本研究は、第一に「断片」を理念・概念として美学・詩学理論の範疇で整理すること、第二に「断章」という形式で表現を行った書き手シュレーゲルの〈筆記法〉を記述すること、そして第三にアフォリスム（断章）の文芸形式による出版物の受容が読者に及ぼす効果を考察することを目指した。最終年の平成30年度は、第一、第三の観点を視野に収めながら、彼の「断章」産出の中核を担う第二の範疇に焦点を当て研究を進捗させ、その成果を博士論文として発表することができた。更にこれと並行して、国際学会（オーストリア他）に招待され、本研究に関係するテーマで研究発表を行い国際的実績を積んだ。本年度は特に、初期（1790～1800頃）のシュレーゲルのテクスト（遺稿の複写含む）を主要対象に、この時期の彼の思考様式と表現方法の基盤にある〈断章を書くこと〉をめぐる文化的・技術的諸相について、遺稿断章群の文体・書法に即して解明した。例えば彼の手稿断章（手帳への書き込み）における書記技術の具体相については以下の三つの段階的な特性を見出した。つまり①文献学の技法（蒐集、抄録、注釈等）を踏襲した彼の読み書きの実践が、断章の書記に反映されている段階、②書き手を視覚的に誘導する記号、とりわけ語句を強調する下線の表記が、断章群の中で思考を可能にする〈トポス〉の可視化機能を果たす段階、③具体的な参照資料から離れ、定型句や省略記号が多用されることで、より抽象的な概念操作が認められる段階である。本研究の成果は一方で、活字がメディア文化の中心を占める1800年頃の書き手・読み手に生じた「文化技術」（Siegert 2013）の考究のため、他方で「書記現場」に関わる文学研究（Campe 1991、Benne 2015他）のために有益な観点を提供するものである。

All aspects of culture and technology, and the style and calligraphy of the broken chapters of posthumous manuscripts are clearly explained.
