本研究は金融危機を未然に防止するためのマクロプルーデンス政策における時間非整合性の問題、さらに時間非整合性下での最適なポリシーミックスについての分析を行った。ここでいう時間非整合性とは、政府が金融危機発生以前に銀行にアナウンスしていた規制を、実際に金融危機に陥った際に緩和してしまうことが最適になる、という非整合性のことである。この非整合性が存在するもとでは、プルーデンス政策が有効に機能しないため、これらの非整合性を解消するような新しい政策、または既存の政策のミックスが必要となる。修士論文において、流動性規制における時間非整合性の存在を証明することに成功したが、かなり強い仮定をおいたシンプルなモデルを使用していたため、博士課程1年度には、より一般的なマクロプルーデンス政策の枠組みで、時間非整合性の存在証明と発生メカニズムを分析した。モデルをより一般的に拡張しても、修士論文で示した流動性規制の時間非整合性のメカニズムは消えないことを証明した。また研究発表の機会を積極的に活用した。日本経済学会ではポスター発表を行い、日本国内の研究者の方から有益なアドバイスをいただいた。また修士論文を改訂したものを、Johns Hopkins 大学からマクロプルーデンス政策における著名な教授の方々が来日した際には東大でプレゼンする機会をいただき、とても有益なコメントをいただいた。これらのコメントをもとに、さらに論文を改訂した。
