研究代表者と研究協力者Marciniak博士は、《マハーヴァストゥ》の最古の梵語写本である貝葉本Sa（１２,1３世紀）と最古の紙写本Na（1657年）の読みに基づいて、批判的校訂本を作成し始めた。難解な箇所を、二人ほぼ毎日一時間半ずつ、検討している。それ以外に、2018年10月から2019年3月まで、研究代表者がMarciniak博士担当分の第三巻全編を添削し、2019年３月に第三巻(全635頁）を出版することができた。博士は第二巻の執筆に取りかかっている。研究代表者の担当する第一巻は、まだ三分の一程度しか進んでいない。代表者は、《マハーヴァストゥ》に見られる特異な文法的現象と難解な語彙を集めている。出版した第三巻の部分はすでに整理し終えた。最終的には、『《マハーヴァストゥ》仏教梵語文法及び辞典』として出版する予定である。学生数名を雇って、《マハーヴァストゥ》研究にとって有用な梵語研究文献などの資料収集と各種辞書のデータ入力をしてもらった。代表者と協力者Marciniak博士は、2018年7月バンクーバーで開催された第17回国際サンスクリット学会で、これら研究成果について、口頭で発表した。代表者は、東洋大学で開かれた日本印度学仏教学会で、関連する研究発表を行った。さらに2018年度末、『国際仏教学高等研究所年報』第22号に、本研究の成果にもとづく論文を、代表者と協力者Marciniak博士の共著で英語論文二本を発表した。協力者はこれ以外にさらに二本発表した。いずれも新しい方法論と発見に基づく論文である。代表者は、2019年2月から5月に、カリフォルニア大学バークレー校に客員教授として招聘され、大学院でできたばかりの《マハーヴァストゥ》第三巻の一部を講読した。

The representative of the university opened the Japanese Hindu Society and conducted research on the relationship. At the end of 2018,"International Institute of Advanced Teaching" No. 22, the results of this research, the representative and the collaborator Dr. Marciniak, published two English papers. The collaborators are working together. A new methodology is proposed. The representative is from February 2019 to May 2019, and he is a guest professor at the university.
