项目摘要

ドロミテ・ラディン語ファッサ方言では、小辞paが疑問文に対してニュアンスを付け加えるわけではないのにも関わらず、義務的に用いられることもない。小辞がこの特異な用法を得るに至った経緯について、フィールドワークで得たデータと前年度に実施したコーパス調査の結果を合わせて分析した。この分析の結果、まずファッサ方言は下位方言ごとに顕著に異なる特徴を示すことがわかった。この方言において、疑問文は様々な構文をとることができる。ファッサ方言には三つの下位方言があるが、これらの下位方言が可能な構文およびそれぞれの構文におけるpaの用法について異なっていることをフィールドワークの結果から発見した。さらに、それぞれの下位方言における疑問文の構文選択およびその歴史的変化に学校教育が影響を及ぼしていることを指摘した。また、ドロミテ・ラディン語における疑問の小辞を言語一般の理論研究の枠組みで分析するうち、イタリア語学および日本語学に対しても貢献することができた。小辞paは、過去においては心態詞（modal particle）として使われていたものが、文法化によって疑問文の義務的マーカーとなった語である。心態詞は文が表す命題に対する話し手の主観的態度を表し、談話辞（discourse particles）の一種であると言える。本研究ではこのことに着目し、疑問の小辞を日本語・イタリア語および北イタリア諸方言に現れる談話辞と比較してきた。その中で、イタリア語において文頭に現れたときに文全体をその作用域に持つ一部の副詞は談話辞としてみることができ、さらに心態詞とよく似た特徴を持つことがわかった。これらの語はさらに日本語の典型的な談話辞である終助詞と共通点を多く持つ一方で、特定の文タイプにしか現れることができない点において異なる。このことから、これらの共通点と違いを説明できる理論的枠組みについて考察した。
