项目摘要

本研究は、音韻対立の消失・出現・転換の背後にある音声産出と知覚機構を解明することを目的とする。目的を達成するために、今年度前半は、対立強化 (contrast enhancement) という現象に着目し、例えば、/nt/ や /nd/ のように鼻音と閉鎖音が連続する音声環境における、言語普遍的な音声学的原理 (post-nasal voicing) と、個別言語特有の文法規則 (例えば、語末における無声化; word-final devoicing) とがどのように相互作用をなすのかという議題に取り組んだ。資料体として2012年にロシアにおいて収録した録音資料を用いて、音響分析を実施した。分析方法として、任意の一時点における数値や平均値等の定点比較に加えて、非線形回帰によるHarmonics-to-Noise Ratio曲線のモデリングを試みた。これによって、発声が有声から無声へと変化する過程を動的に観察し、得られたモデルから無声化が開始する時点に関する具体的な予測を立てることを可能にした。上述の研究成果は2019年6月にアムステルダム大学のSilke Hamann氏と共同で国際学会において発表された。この他に、国際学会において無声化に関する研究発表を2件実施した (そのうち1件は、挑戦的萌芽研究の助成を受けた)。年度後半は、3年間の研究成果の取りまとめに着手した。特に、先述のpost-nasal voicingとword-final devoicingの相互作用を検討した結果を学術論文として取りまとめ、国際誌に投稿した (刊行は来年度以降の見通し)。以上の取り組みによって、音韻対立の消失・出現・転換の背後にある音声産出と知覚機構に関する理解を促進することができたと考える。
