採用期間の半年は、まず昨年度提出した修士論文の内容を発表した。修士論文では結合価を増やすヴォイスである-nu-接辞の研究を網羅的な用例を用いて進め、-nu-派生形が一度しか使われていない場合のジャンルとの関係やフリ語との接触の可能性を整理した。さらに、辞書などには掲載されているが、楔形文字の読み間違いなどから実際には存在しない語形もまとめ、あらたな-nu-派生動詞の一覧を作成した。そして論文として英語でまとめたものがthe 10th International Congress of HittitologyのProceedingsとして出版されることになった。また、同様の内容についてシュメール研究会で口頭発表を行った。古期ヒッタイト語のヴォイスの研究に関しては、まずコーパスを作成するための文献を収集し、テキスト処理のためのプログラミングの環境を整えた。また、類型論など理論に関する文献もさらに収集を進めた。８月には二週間トルコのカマンカレホユック遺跡で中近東文化センターアナトリア考古学研究所主催の元開催された考古学フィールドコースに参加し、ヒッタイト時代の建築遺構の発掘を行った。粘土板文書の年代決定には共伴する遺物や層序についての知識が不可欠であるため、本研究にとって非常に大きな収穫があった。同じ発掘に参加している各国の研究者との交流を深めたほか、アンカラのアナトリア文明博物館やハットウシャ遺跡、アラジャホユック遺跡も訪れ、粘土板の収蔵状況や発掘状況などを確認した。
