项目摘要

本研究の目的は、2003年の学校色覚検査廃止の前後で色盲観がどのように構築され、また変容したかを明らかにすることで、日本社会と「色盲」に関する新たな知見を得ることである。本年度は採用最終年度にあたり、当初の計画通り、主に高柳泰世の色盲観について分析を進めつつ、適時２００３以前と以後の色盲観の構築と変容についても資料収集と分析を継続しながら、関連学会における研究報告を行った。加えて、博士論文としてこれまでの研究成果を発表することも目指し、本研究課題に取り組んだ。まず、２００３年以前の色盲観については、学校色覚検査の歴史的変遷について一次資料を再度分析・整理し、活力検査から学生生徒児童身体検査規定までの色盲観の変遷に着目し、障害学の障害モデルを援用し、色盲の医学モデルを明らかにした。次に、高柳泰世の色盲観について、高柳泰世や日本色覚差別撤廃の会の研究成果や運動について障害の社会モデルの視点から詳細な分析を行い、強制的学校色覚検査撤廃運動にそれまでの色盲観を相対化する視点の萌芽を色盲の社会モデルの誕生として理論化した。さらに、２００３年の制度的学校色覚検査の廃止以後に学校色覚検査を受診した、あるいはする年齢だった、若い世代の当事者へのライフストーリー・インタビュー結果の分析を行い、色盲の戦略モデルという新たな知見を見出した。以上で本研究課題は達成され、色盲観の変遷を理解する為の示唆を得たと考える。本年度は学会での研究報告に加え、これまでの研究成果を博士論文として発表することができた。また、本研究の成果は、国内外の研究者が共同執筆した研究書の章として、本年度中に出版される予定である。さらに、本研究の成果の一部は国際学会誌の投稿論文として、本年度中に出版される予定である。今後も、関連する国際学会や学会誌への研究成果の報告を継続し、本研究課題をより発展させていく計画である。

The purpose of this study is to build new knowledge about color blindness in Japanese society before and after the end of school color screening in 2003.
