项目摘要

本年度の研究活動は、新たな一次資料調査と調査対象者への面接調査を中心に行い、その成果を学会発表で報告やパネル発表を国内外で積極的に行った。今年度は前年度の米国資料調査で解明された金大中が推進した在外同胞政策制定が、文化外交による韓国の対外政策と国家発展と一体であったことを一層裏付ける資料を入手した。マレーシア、米国、韓国の公文書館での一次資料収集活動を行い、マレーシア国立マラヤ大学にある金大中記念館にて「マレーシア訪問時の声明文資料」を発見した。金大中（当時）大統領が東アジア共同体構想の促進を掲げながら、国策の一つとして韓国の「文化外交」推進と在外韓人の積極活用による経済発展、国際協力、世界平和（分断国家統一）を目指す新しい共同体構築であることが声明文の中に残されていた。彼が国家発展の根幹にある外交政策は、国民国家、民族主義、植民地主義系譜から派生する混濁した朝鮮半島分断の歴史観からの脱却、すなわち文化と人的交流から脱領土的な国家革新を目指していた。これは在外韓人たちが在外同胞法策定を米国と日本において社会運動として促した成果でもあり、「民族」の概念を変革し再生産させる契機となったことを明らかにした。次にこれまでの研究調査から得た資料やインタビュー調査の経過と成果を学会発表とパネル報告を国内外で行なった。前年度の研究調査に関連したものが中心であるが、日本移民学会冬季年次大会（名古屋大学）と東アジア人類学会年次大会（韓国）においては、在外同胞政策施行以前から行われてきた在外同胞の民族教育に関する通時的考察と母国修学という在外同胞の越境とその生活世界の語りの考察を報告した。アメリカ人類学会（カナダ）ではパネル報告を行い、在外同胞政策策定の社会運動に関する通時的考察と在外同胞教育の現状を生活史の文脈から報告を行った。以上の総括から前途多難ではあったが概ねの研究計画は達成できた。
