今年度は、これまでにフィールドワーク等で収集したデータの分析と資料の読み込みと執筆作業に集中した。以前より研究交流のあったプリンストン大学に訪問研究員として滞在し、論文執筆に取り組んだ。ここでは、特にグローバルヒストリーを専門にする研究者との交流をとおして、スリランカが英領の植民地であった時代と今日の開発政策との関係について、より深い分析と考察を行うことができた。夏以降には追加資料の収集のためにスリランカでのフィールドワークを予定していたが、4月に現地で同時多発テロが発生したため見送ることとなった。また、研究成果の発表を積極的に行った。2020年2月に米国イェール大学で開催されたYale Modern South Asia Wroskhopで研究発表を行った。世界各地から南アジア地域研究に取り組む若手研究者があつまり、活発な意見交換と研究交流の場であった。また、3月には、国際連合NY本部にてDepartment of Economic Analysis and Policy Division が主催するDevelopment Policy Seminar Seriesのゲストスピーカーとして招待を受け、研究発表および農村開発やSDGsに取り組む実務家との意見交換を行う機会は大変貴重であった。これ以外に、複数の研究者と共著書の出版計画を行い、執筆を行っている。これらの研究発表で得たコメントをとりこみ、国際ジャーナル誌へ論文投稿の準備、また博士論文の執筆を集中的に実施している。
