项目摘要

建築家の渡辺豊和氏（1938ー　）が考案した「地域住民が愛着をもつ公共建築のつくり方」の一端を、渡辺氏本人への聞き取り調査、および渡辺氏の建築作品と著作等の分析から明らかにした。研究対象とした公共建築は、龍神村民体育館、ウッディパル余呉、対馬豊玉町文化の郷、加茂町文化ホール、上湧別町郷土資料館、秋田市体育館、黒滝村森のこもれびホール、角館町立西長野小学の８棟である。各棟が立地する地域で伝承されている「伝説・神話・昔話」に着目し、公共建築と「伝説・神話・昔話」とのあいだにみられる、深層心理学的な関連性を明らかにした。その関連性を建築表現へと転化させる、渡辺氏独自の方法論を明らかにした。現在、渡辺氏の方法を総括し、周知する機会として、著作（刊行予定）の執筆を進めている（次年度も継続）。建築家の増田友也氏（1914ー81）が設計した公共建築２棟（鳴門市民会館および鳴門市庁舎）の取り壊しに伴い、発生した、市民の見解や意識の分析を行い、地域住民の公共建築に対する愛着意識と心理構造を明らかにした。その結果は「地域住民が愛着をもつ公共建築のつくり方」に対する、有効な知見となった。また増田友也氏が提唱した「Ethnos（故郷・原郷）」の概念について、深層心理学の観点から分析し直すことで、「地域住民が愛着をもつ公共建築のつくり方」における有効な知見を得ることができた。なお、渡辺豊和氏、および増田友也氏関係者に対する聞き取り調査で得た発言内容は、すべて記録・保存し、歴史的資料化につとめた。
