本年度は、まず大阪府立中之島図書館・湯本豪一記念日本妖怪博物館（三次もののけミュージアム）・もりおか歴史文化館・群馬県立文書館で調査をおこなった。主な調査対象は、各機関が所蔵する講談本である。講談本は、明治・大正期の貸本屋の主力商品であったため、なかには貸本印や貸本屋による摺物を有するものがみられる。調査では、講談本の基本的な書誌情報に加えて、そうした貸本印や摺物に関する情報を収集した。また、講談本のみならず、貸本屋あるいは貸本屋を利用した人々が残した手控え類の調査もあわせて進めた。次に、明治末年に営業していた貸本屋の営業文書（個人蔵）の翻刻および分析をおこなった。当該文書は全4冊からなり、丁数はあわせて732丁にも及ぶ。その内容は、貸本屋が書籍を貸し出した日付や書籍の書名のほか、貸本利用者の居住地や姓名などである。このうち書名は、「コイノザンサツ」「伯シヤク夫人」「村ヰ長アン」といったように省略されていることから、それぞれいつ、どの版元から出版された書籍であるかを特定する必要がある。種々の資料に拠りながら、可能な限りそうした書籍を特定しつつ、本年度は4冊のうち1冊分の翻刻を完了した。そして、上記の調査や翻刻および分析とともに、古書市場に出回る明治・大正期の貸本屋が旧蔵していた書籍（貸本屋旧蔵書）の収集を進めた。以上のような調査・営業文書の翻刻および分析・貸本屋旧蔵書の収集により、明治・大正期の貸本屋がいつ、だれに、どのような書籍を貸し出していたか、というデータを集積することができた。
