前年度の進捗を日本言語学会第164回大会で発表した。その際にいただいたコメントに関連して、格助詞デ句が描写表現として機能するものを対象に調査を計画した。2020年の毎日新聞を用い、「名詞＋で」の形式をとる用例から、本調査の対象となる様態の機能を持っていると思われるものを絞り込んだ。その中で、さらに動作の様態を表すもの（議論が急ピッチで進む）、主語を描写していると思われるもの（選手がFWで出場する）、目的語を描写していると思われるもの（住人が農地を安価で購入する）に分けた。分類対象となった用例自体が多くないものの、様態の「名詞＋で」は、主語描写（約6割）＞様態（約2割）＞目的語描写（約1割）、保留（約1割）と、明らかな分布の偏りが見られた。今後は、このような分布となる要因や、名詞が主語の何を述べているのか、描写表現の実際を調査していきたいと考えている。ただ、明確な判断ができなかったものがあり、今年度の調査結果については、さらなる精査が必要である。また、本課題では、アンケート調査（描写文産出課題）も行う予定である。その実施に向けた準備にも着手し、アンケートで用いる動作の選定を検討した。将来的には日本語学習者の描写表現も調査できるよう、平易かつ基本的な動作を『日本語能力試験出題基準』（国際交流基金 ,日本国際教育支援協会（著・編）、2002）から1000語程度抽出した。この中から、級が低く、明確な動作が読み取れ、適切な写真素材が利用できそうなものを条件に100語程度の動詞を選んだ。なお、今後はこの100語からアンケート実施できるものを20語程度まで絞り込む予定である。これらの作業と並行して、アジア諸言語の描写述語に関する文献を読み、他言語での描写表現の把握に努めた。
