本研究の目的は国際ボランティアにおける参加者の学びのプロセスをCommunity of Practiceを理論的枠組みとして明らかにすることである。この目的のもと、2021年にCambodian Children's Destinyの協力を得て、現地で英語とITを学ぶ生徒たちを対象に、ドイツ人大学生・日本人大学生４名のチームが英語の授業を５日間教えるプロジェクトを実施した。得られたデータは事前スタッフミーティングでの会話、参加者の事前・事後のインタビュー、プロジェクトで行われた授業の様子である。２０２２年度はスタッフミーティングに着目し、下記の通り分析・結果をThe IAFOR International Education in Hawaiiで発表した。本研究ではプロジェクトメンバーがZoomで行った週1回の6回のミーティングから収集した、指導案についての会話データを分析した。コーディングは、MaxQDA を用いて 3 段階で行った。まず、書き起こされた会話の各セグメントに記述的コーディングを適用した。次に、似たような意味を持つコードを、より抽象的な名称を持つサブコードとしてグループ化した。そして、サブコードを再検討し、この実践共同体の特徴を表すカテゴリーにグループ化した。その結果、書き起こされたテキストは、42のコード、12のサブコード、そして3つのカテゴリーにコード化された： 「共有された目標と情熱」（ドメイン）、「コミュニティの一員となる」（コミュニティ）、「実践への関与」（実践）である。最後に、出現したコードとカテゴリの関係を説明するために、この実践のコミュニティを記述するモデルを策定した。学会発表では出現したコードとカテゴリーを生データとともに紹介し、本研究の参加者が互いにコミュニケーションをとりながらZoomの実践共同体を構築していく学習過程について議論した。
