项目摘要

「オタクさ」の言説や自己意識に関して、研究実績の概要の第一は、アイデンティティに関する理論的な検討であった。今後更なる検討が可能な視座として、Film study （映画学）におけるpositioning theoryというものがあった。アイデンティティという用語よりも、より相互構成の観点を強調する意味で、subject position といった用語での検討が近年なされていることが明らかとなった。第二は、テーマに関した具体的な現れとして、サブカルチャーの拠点に関するフィールドワークを行った。オンラインでの聞き取りや問い合わせも含め、東京・秋葉原や大阪・日本橋などのサブカルの拠点地のフィールド調査や、Fan Expoといった国際的なファンの集まりのフィールド調査を行うことができた。この調査を通して、人々が親近感を抱いた形で参加をする「居場所」の検討を行った。とりわけ、Discordなどのオンライン上のプラットフォームでの人々の関わりを検討することを通し、近年言われるaffinity space （「親近感を持つ空間・場所」の意味）という概念について、サブカルのファンの居場所論や場所への愛着、そして何らかの媒介物（ポータル）を持ったうえでの場所への参加について、検討を行った。この「親近感を持つ空間・場所」を意味するaffinity spaceという概念を軸に、社会的包摂（social inclusion）の観点からみる、コスプレや他者性、異文化性への受容や、唯一性（固有性）の観点からみる、「その場所・土地にいかないとそのイベントや人々に会えない」という観点について考察を進めることができた。同様に、「ポータル」といった、人々が参加する際の「媒介物」（物質的なものの場合もあるし、象徴的なものの場合もある）を持ち寄った形で参加するという観点も重要となった。
