①学童期の肥満に対する家族介入プログラムの検証：当該年度は、過去5年間分の検診データを詳細に解析し、パイロット研究の解析結果と合わせて、より簡便で効果的と考えらえる介入方法を勘案し、報告書を作成して自治体に提案した。具体的には、検診後ではなく、検診対象者の決定通知の際にワークブックを同封するという方法である。検診方法の報告はいくつかあるが、介入時期、つまり検診以前の期間に注目した介入は現在まで報告されていない。しかも、本研究の介入方法はパイロット研究より簡便で、参加者の少なさという問題点も解決でき、かつ検診対象者全員に情報提供ができるという利点がある。大規模介入で有効性を示すことができれば、世田谷区だけでなく、他の自治体にも応用でき、学童期の肥満対策に使用可能となる。本研究をもとに、フォローアップシステムの開発につなげることは非常に意義深いと考えられる。②幼児期の過体重に対する望ましい生活習慣習得のためのツール開発及び有効性の検証：肥満に関して3歳の時点での介入が重要であることが報告されているが、3歳児に対する食育・健康教育ツールはほとんど開発されていない。当該年度は、文献検索や情報収集により、食育・健康教育ツール作成の準備を行った。過体重の幼児への健康教育は、将来的な肥満のリスクを下げることが分かっているが、幼児は個人差が大きく、肥満対策ツールはほとんど開発されていないため、本研究の実施は有用である。
