千葉大学にクリーンブースを整備、浜松ホトニクスと開発した4インチPMTに安定してライトガイド機能を持つシリコンパッドの取り付けることに成功し、新型光検出器に使用するシリコンパッドの製造手法を確立した。本モデルでは半球につきそれぞれ9つのシリコンパッドをガラスとの間に空気が入らないように設置する必要がある。シリコンパッド設置後にシリコンを流し込みシリコンパッドをガラスに密着させるという手法を開発した。このため、シリコンパッドの長球耐圧ガラス容器への設置には、流し込んだシリコンの硬化が進む間中、圧力をかけ続けシリコンパッドをガラスに密着させておく必要がある。その手法を決定し製造過程を確認した。これらの手法を用いて、プロトタイプモデル半球を製造した。また、IceCube-Gen2実験に向け、IceCube-Gen2実験テクニカルデザインレポートの大部分を完成させた。300ページを超える実験全体のレポートは三部にわかれており、日本グループが担当し本研究計画により推進している光検出器の章が含まれる第一部、二部までは完成している。なお、第三部はロジスティックスや建設についての記述となっており、2023年夏にコミュニティにオープンするよう、引き続きコラボレーション内での協議を進めている。また、テクニカルレポート及びIceCube-Gen2感度研究に使われるIceCube-Gen2検出器によるニュートリノ事象及び背景事象シミュレーションの改良を開発を開始した。IceCube-Gen2 Phase1計画による系統誤差の削減にむけたシミュレーションの開発では特に読み出し電子回路の理解を精査した応答モデルを完成させた。新型光検出器D-Eggの性能、詳細な応答特性およびマスプロダクションで製造したD-Eggの平均的な特性を調べ論文として発表した。
