キリスト教福音派による人種問題への取組というテーマで研究を行った。初年度である2022年は、米国の人種関係を植民地時代の奴隷制から現代まで、歴史的に文献調査に基づいて辿り、文献調査の補足として、後述の専門家のインタビューを行った。具体的には、福音派による人種関係の改善を「人種和解運動」と「社会正義運動」の視点から分析した。1950年代から60年代までの南部諸州の人種隔離政策とそれに対抗する公民権運動を人種和解運動の第一波とし、1990年以降のプロミス・キーパー運動を第二派とした。第一波で特に注目したのは、保守的な白人南部福音派の人種隔離政策擁護と福音派左派やリベラル派による人種隔離の撤廃・是正運動という二つのベクトルの交錯・対抗である。2000年以降は、社会正義の達成を人種和解より優先させる「社会正義運動」の高まりであり、ブラック・ライブズ・マター運動である。そのほかにも、福音派左派のジム・ウォリスに代表される人種和解運動第一波の戦略を踏襲した改革運動の分析を行った。今回の研究では、こうした社会改革運動のほかに、教会内での人種融合を図る、多民族会衆(Multiethnic Congregation)化運動について文献調査ならびに専門家へのインタビューを行った。2022年9月に米国を訪問し、多民族会衆研究の第一人者であるイリノイ大学シカゴ校のマイケル・エマーソン(Michael Emerson)教授ならびにデイビッドソン大学のジェラルド・マーティ（Geraldo Marti）教授にそれそれ面会し、インタビューを実施した。その結果、2年度目以降の研究の方向性が固まった。

The Evangelical Church is a place of worship. In the first year of 2022, the ethnic relations in the United States, the modern era of slavery, and the history of literature research were carried out. The concrete analysis of the improvement of racial relations between evangelicals and "racial reconciliation movement" and "social justice movement" In the 1950s and 1960s, racial segregation in the southern states was opposed by the first wave of racial reconciliation, followed by the second wave of racial reconciliation in 1990. The first wave was particularly marked by the opposition, conservative, white southern evangelical, racial segregation, evangelical, leftist, racial segregation, positive movement, and opposition. Since 2000, social justice has been achieved, racial reconciliation has been prioritized, and the "social justice movement" has been promoted. The Evangelical Left represents the first wave of the racial reconciliation movement and the analysis of the reform movement. The present study is a literature survey of the social reform movement, ethnic integration in the church, and multiethnic congregation movement. In September 2022, Professor Geraldo Marti, the first person to visit and study multi-ethnic congregations in the United States, conducted the meeting. The results of the study and the direction of the study in the past two years are consistent.
