项目摘要

本年度は織田本『太平記』の翻字作業、西源院本太平記との比較、天正本『太平記』の検討を行った。織田本の翻字作業は、七割程度進めることができた。この作業と並行して西源院本との校合、検討を進めた。その過程で、織田本は西源院本の写しである、あるいは兄弟関係にあると考えられてきた従来の見方は改められるべきであるという考えを強めることができた。また、織田本は完本である点が焼損している西源院本よりも優れている一方で、部分的には西源院本の方が良い本文を伝えているという見通しを持つことができた。引き続き、この作業は継続していく予定である。西源院本系統の本文も有する天正本の検討を進めるために、先行研究を整理した上で、従来の見方を根本的に改める見解を示した。すなわち、これまでは、天正本に認められる特徴的な増補記事を、天正本全体の性格に結びつける見方が強く、増補記事の分析が中心であった。しかし、天正本には本文を略した部分も散見される。この節略された部分を中心に検討していくことによって従来の見方を相対化することに成功した。その結果、天正本は場面場面で本文改訂の仕方や指向性が異なっており、しばしばそれらの特徴が相反することも見られることから、天正本は場面ごとに異なる様々な特徴を包み込んだ伝本と位置付けられると考えるに至った。織田本が書写された室町時代の太平記の新たな姿を指摘したわけである。このほかに、阪本龍門文庫蔵豪精本の調査も行った。この調査も引き続き行っていく予定である。
