项目摘要

本研究「明清時代の通俗小説における日本・日本人イメージの研究」（基盤研究（Ｃ）22K0036)は、2018年度に採択され、その後新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大の影響もあって研究期間を2年間にわたって延長した「倭寇小説・倭寇戯曲の研究」（以下、前研究と呼ぶ）の発展形である。前研究では主に倭寇を描いた戯曲作品の発掘、データ化とその特徴の分析、さらに個別作品に対する研究を進めた。その結果、前研究では予想外に多数の倭寇戯曲作品の存在をを見出すこととなり、大きな研究成果を上げることができた。その経験に基づき、本研究においては改めて倭寇小説作品のさらなる発掘を文言小説や清末小説にまでその範囲を広げて実施し、前研究の成果と合わせて十分な研究の素地を作り上げた上で申請書に記した研究計画に沿った研究に取り組むという方針を立てたため、2022年度の研究では、中国通俗小説の最も完備したリストのひとつである『中国通俗小説綜目提要』（中国文聯出版、1980年）に載るすべての作品に対して調査を行い、前研究では見落とされていた多数の倭寇小説作品を探し出すことができた。清末小説に関しては、調査継続中のため現時点では除くが、明清両朝における倭寇小説については27編を数えるに至った。もちろん、このなかには単なる時代背景の描出のために倭寇が動員されている例もあるが、本研究の立場からすればそれさえも貴重な資料とみなすことができるため、今後の本格的研究の進展を倭寇戯曲作品とともに支える成果を上げるに至った。加えて、前研究の成果と本研究の成果のなかから、倭寇の領袖を女性（日本女王、倭婆……）とみなすパターンが明清通俗文学のなかに存在することを把握したことで、「卑弥呼の残像」とタイトルを付した論考を執筆中である。
