本研究では、理系学生が英語学術プレゼンテーションを行うための「論理展開に即した英語表現のテンプレート」を開発することである。具体的には、高専生が5年生終了時に提出する卒業研究の日本語要旨をコーパスデータ化し、学科・研究室ごとに特徴的な表現を抽出し、それらの表現を英語化することを目指す。英語化する際に、日本国内で通用するテクニカルタームなのか、世界でも通用するものなのかを、専門学科教員、native教員の協力を得ながら調査する。日本国内でしか使われない表現であっても、できる限り、世界で通用する英語表現に近づけていく。2022年度、2019年度～2021年度の神戸高専本科卒業研究予稿集（日本語）（5学科6クラス約240名×3年間）のデータ化をおおよそ完成させた（2023年度は、2022年度の神戸高専本科卒業研究予稿集（5学科6クラス約240名分）をデータ化する）。データ分析は途中ではあるものの、学科間での特徴よりも研究室ごとでの特徴の方が際立っていることが確認された。研究室ごとに特徴的な固有名詞を抽出するだけでなく、その固有名詞と共起する動詞や形容詞も抽出することで、コロケーションとして英語リストを作成できることを確認した。学生が英語で専門分野の学術プレゼンテーションの原稿を書くときに、日本語と同じ論理展開を用いてしまわないようにするために、「日英語間の論理展開の差異」に重点おき、より効果的な指導や評価のあり方を明確にすることを目指す。

This study aims to explore the logic development of English academic performance among science students.
