项目摘要

理工系の授業を英語化する場合、専門科目の教員や受講生に、高い英語能力や英語導入にかける多大な労力を期待することは現実的でない。この状況下で、理工系授業への英語導入にかかる過大なコストを避けながら、同時に授業内容の質を維持し向上させていくためには、理系教員や受講生がもっている既存の意識（ネイティブ英語が規範）を刷新し、「相互理解度・国際通用度の高い英語」へと転換する必要がある。同時に、ネイティブ話者と非ネイティブ話者のミスコミュニケーションを解決する必要もある。これらについて、探究を進めた。あわせて、前回の科研費課題を引き継いで、新規入学者に関する英語レベルの見極めをおこなうため、TOEICのスコアとCEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)の相関関係を吟味して、専門科目担当教員に助言することができるようにした。また、授業の英語化マニュアル作成と配布によって、教員・学生双方の英語レベルの判定法・国際語としての英語・教室で実際に使える英語文例集・英文シラバスの書き方その他について、最新の知見を盛り込んだ。さらに、研究会での発表や著作によって、得られた知見の社会還元に努めた。
