本研究の構想を改めてここで紹介する。本研究の構想は高専教育におけるKOSEN技術者英語教育をグローバル社会で必要とされる中堅技術者の英語力に繋げることである。それに向けて、本研究者が中心となり7年間、海外の教育機関と協働で実施している「国際自主探究」のKOSEN英語教材開発および国際自主探究の教育効果の検証をし、研究成果をグローバル社会に還元することになる。高専教育で、15歳から国境を越えて海外の同世代の学生と協働で課題発見・解決ができるグローバル・エンジニア育成に向けて「国際自主探究」のKOSEN技術者英語教材の開発を目指して、下記を実施した。当初の計画では令和４年度に海外3カ国の英語教材の調査を実施する予定であった。しかし、新型コロナ感染症拡大により、海外に行って現地での調査ができない状況にあった。そこで、下記を実施した。１）八戸高専で国際自主探究担当教員と今後の国際自主探究に向けた打ち合わせ、２）本研修者が令和4年4月付で八戸高専から函館高専に異動になったことから、予定している海外の教育機関のモンゴルとタイの合計4校と協定を締結した。また、令和5年度にンガポールのテマセクポリテクニックと協定を締結する予定である。令和5年度に向けた現地調査を実施する体制を整えた。
