「歴史的ロタリンギア」科研（３カ年）の１年目にあたる2022年度は、「立て直し」以前の時代における〈堆積構造〉の形成についての基礎的分析を行なった。ケルン＝リエージュ圏について、7月までに司教座の司教文書・コア修道院の文書群を、トリーア歴史研究叢書（Trierer Historische Forschungen）の諸文献を参考にデータ化し、修道院と在地貴族家門との関係を一つ一つ確定していく作業を行なった。9月には、現地フィールド調査および文献・資料の収集を行なった。事前に行なった証書資料・研究文献の分析から得られた情報とその地理的分布をもとに、ロタリンギア圏の最初期の拠点修道院であるリュクスイユ修道院を訪問し、その地形的特徴を踏査するとともに、関連施設での文献収集を行なった。続いて拠点をナンシーに移し、ミューズ川沿いの交易・文化伝播の拠点として機能したヴェルダン司教座と、その近くに所在したモーゼル河畔のトゥール司教座を訪問し、地形調査と文献収集、施設の踏査を行なった。フランクフルトでは、リービッヒ博物館所蔵の象牙板付典礼書をはじめとする、研究計画に関わる展示物を閲覧し、関連する文献を入手した。また、フランクフルト大学図書館において研究文献の収集を行なった。帰国後は、「立て直し」期以前の司教・在地貴族・修道院間の土地取引、文書のやり取りの解析を進め、地域の人的ネットワークを構造的に析出し、その時系列の変化を明らかにする作業を進めた。
