共同研究の初年度にあたる本年度は、都合3回の研究会を行った。研究会における中心的な課題は、この間夥しく刊行された「1968年」研究および近年急展開を見せる「70年代」研究を踏まえつつ、研究計画に示した「政治的配置」という本共同研究の鍵概念を比較研究にとってより適した形にするための検討である。第１回目の研究会では、国際的な冷戦秩序とそのもとで各国で立ち上がった戦後の政治的配置を軸に「1968年」を検討するという本研究の方法を、近年の研究の動向の中に位置づけるための報告と討議を行った。これをもとに共同研究者は、それぞれの担当課題ごとに研究の現状を把握しつつ、分析を進める作業を行った。第2回目の研究会では、冷戦と第三世界の関係に関する問題とその冷戦下での第三世界の問題が「北」の「1968年」にどのような影響を与えたかに関する報告、そして、ポスト1968の新自由主義および保守化の様相の日米の比較に関する報告がなされ、討議を行った。第3回目の研究会では、冷戦秩序化の覇権国たる米国の国内政治が冷戦的配慮に大きく規定されてきたことを、公民権改革の問題を素材に検討され、それが米国内そしてヨーロッパ諸国における異議申し立ての動きに与えた影響について討議が行われた。また、それとともに、各国の「1968年」の相違を規定する「政治的配置」と、各国の歴史的文脈との関係に関する報告が行われ、これにもとづく討議につづき、分析枠組みのブラッシュアップの方向性に関する検討を行った。
