2023年2月16日から3月8日までオーストリア共和国に赴き、ウィーンのオーストリア国立文書館および国立図書館、そしてザンクト・ペルテンの下オーストリア州立文書館にて、以下の諸史料の調査を、1749年から1756年までの分を中心としておこなった。この調査により、この調査期間においてハプスブルク王権は、従来は諸身分が選んだ三名の候補者から選任することになっていた諸身分の長たる領邦長官の任命を、諸身分の了解あるいは事前協議を経ることなく、独断で決定したことが明らかとなった。また、領邦議会の開会は従来君主自らが臨席して実施されることになっていたが、1750年以降はこれが謁見の中で済まされるよう簡略化されて実施されるようになったことも明らかとなった。以上に略述したように、ハプスブルク王権がオーストリア継承戦争の終了後、従来手を付けずにいた諸身分の伝統・慣習・特権に対する攻勢を強め、それらを自らの有利になるよう改変する様々なアプローチをおこなっていたことが明らかとなった。これは、この時期に王権が諸身分を圧伏する形で国政運営をおこなおうとしていた事情と一致する。ただ一方、これらの決定の理由については、諸身分の代表団に対し君主自ら詳細に説明をおこなっており、一方的な権利の侵害とならないよう、一定の配慮が取られていた点は注目される。以上の研究成果は、2023年度中に創元社より刊行予定の『マリア・テレジアとハプスブルク帝国（仮）』にも反映させた。
