In the first fiscal year I worked on collecting materials required for research. During this period, I took several actions related to my research topic. I made presentation at the conference entitled "The International Maritime and Transport Law Course" held at Dubrovnik from September 5 until September 9, 2022. I made another presentation at the Transnational Commercial Law Meeting held at the UNIDROIT headquarters in Rome on October 6-7, 2023. The title of my presentations was "Blockchain Bills of Lading: New Generation of Electronic Transport Document". During the first fiscal year I published a paper at the Comparative Maritime Law journal (Vol. 61 No. 176, 2022) under the title: "Blockchain Bills of Lading: New Generation of Electronic Transport Document". The paper was submitted in March 2022 and published in December 2022. The research in the first year focused on the development and background of blockchain bills of lading and identifying the key issues in their implementation in practice. In the second fiscal year I plan to move further and explore attempts at legal regulation of electronic transferable records that include blockchain bills of lading. I plan to make presentation at the International Academy for Commercial and Consumer Law (IACCL) to be held at Bar Ilan University, at Tel Aviv, Israel in July 2023. I plan to make a presentation at the International Maritime and Transport Law Course to be held in Dubrovnik in September 2023. I also accepted an offer to write a chapter on the research related topic for a book to be published by Routledge in the UK.
