該当年度はデータ収集とデータ入力を行う計画であった。そこで、電子データが利用できないデータの収集とデータ入力を行った。『東洋経済統計月報』と日本経済新聞に2013年から掲載されてきた「経営者が占う」の収集・入力を行った。また、『東洋経済統計月報』と『日本経済研究センター会報』掲載の民間調査機関の各社予測を1960年代初頭まで遡り収集・入力した。これらの資料から、企業経営者、エコノミスト・民間調査機関が公表する経済予測を収集しデータセットを作成するため、アルバイトを雇用し効率的にこのステップを進めた。当初の計画にはなかった新しい発見として、『東洋経済統計月報』と『日本経済研究センター会報』には数値データに加えて、テキストデータが豊富であることが判明した。そのため、これらテキストデータの収集作業を行い、経済予測に関するデータ分析に利用することとした。これにより、従来の研究で行われてきたことに加えて近年進展の著しいテキストデータの利用という観点からも貢献が行える可能性を見出した。しかし、上記資料ではテキストデータの漏れも多く存在することが判明した。そこで、民間調査機関が個別に公表した資料を国会図書館等で探すことから始める必要がある。これら追加のデータ収集・入力を次年度に行う必要があることが分かった。なお、当該年度に実施予定であった予備調査が行えなかった点がマイナスではあったが、上述の経済予測に関するテキストデータ発掘というプラスがあった。
