まずEpstein-Zin型選好モデルを推定する際の基礎となるLong Run Risk (LRR)モデルを日本の消費・配当データに当てはめるときの問題点について整理した。分析では(1)データ間隔と(2)消費データの定義のさまざまな組み合わせを使ってモデルから得られるモーメントの符号条件との整合性、GMMを使ったモデル適合性をチェックした。まず日本の配当データの特徴として3月決算企業が圧倒的に多く、すなわち3月と9月の配当支出が他の月に比べ圧倒的に多く、月次や四半期データに強い季節性が現れることから年次データを使うことが適切である。一方、消費データについては通常、非耐久消費財とサービス支出の合計を使用するのが一般的であるが日本のサービス支出を含めるとモデルの当てはまりが悪くなる傾向をみつけた。以上、日本のデータの特殊性も考慮したとしても、米国データを使いLRRモデルをベースとしたEpstein-Zin型選好モデルをGMMで推定したConstantinides and Ghosh (2011)の推定結果は非常に不安定であり、多角的な考察が必要であることを確認した。また、日本のデータの限界として、年次データを使用する場合、標本数が少ないという問題があるため、モデル全体の推定には工夫が必要であり現在は各パラメーターの感応度分析を行っているところである。なお、Epstein-Zin型選好モデルをGMM推定については、Constantinides and Ghosh (2011)と同様に統計パッケージRに組み込まれた関数“DEoptim”を使用している。
