具体的に行った分析の内容は、購入したデータを分析可能な形式に整理し、それを踏まえ、社外取締役を通じた企業ネットワーク、役員派遣を通じた企業ネットワーク、株式取得による企業ネットワークの三つについて、2008年、2013年、2014年、2015年、2016年、2017年、2018年の記述統計を求めたことである。主たるものは、一企業当たりがもつリンクの程度（密度、平均次数）、局所的にどれだけ閉鎖的か（推移性、クラスター係数）、ネットワーク全体でどれくらい中心的な構造があるか（中心化）などである。さらに、3企業や4企業においてどのような部分ネットワークができているかについても調べた。結果として次のことが明らかとなった。すなわち、社外取締役を通じた企業ネットワークが拡大し、役員派遣を通じた企業ネットワークはあまり変化なく、株式取得による企業ネットワークは縮小傾向にある。また、推移性とクラスター係数は全体として減少傾向にあり、より開放的な関係への傾向もうかがえる。3企業および4企業の部分ネットワークの変化についても、記述統計の変化と整合的なものとなっていた。以上の分析の意義は、2年目以降におこなう推定を含む実証分析の基礎作業となっていることである。水平的で、開放的な企業構造が増加していることを踏まえ、どのようなネットワーク構造が利潤との関係を定式化し、推定を行っていく。2008年と、2013年から2018年までの7年間にわたり、3種の異なる企業ネットワークの時系列的な変化をデータから明らかにしていることによって、企業ネットワーク分析に対して基礎的な事実を提供していることが、初年度の結果の重要性と言える。
